My TB x warmblood has also got quite fizzy. Yesterday my riding teacher said that we shouldn't feed alpha A at all because it has a lot of protien/energy in it. So, we are going to buy hi fi lite instead. Bailey's no.1 is non-heating and we use it; your horse might find it less heating that the cool mix you are using.

hmm id watch mixes as any mix can give horse energy even the ones that say cool or low energy. I would possibly think of going back to basics, look at feeding bran with a chaff and some linseed oil for his coat. Bran i always think is a little forgotten with all these modern mixes available for horses. It is the outter layer of a wheat which like say a potatoe or a carrot, contains all the goodness. Its higher in cals than most people would believe, has a good protein level for muscle development but is low on sugar, which is i always believe the side that makes horses fizzy, as i relate them to kids on too much sugar who can go bonkers!! lol it also contains a source vitamin B and E and has low calcium levels and high phosphorus and magnesium levels.
