Hi I have a 20 year old polish arab and his condition normally dips in the winter as expected.  This summer I had him on equilibra and chaff but when the autumn grass came in it sent him a bit ditzy and further investigation into it, its got black oats in it, but any way now I feed him on sugar beet, chaff (veteran chaff cos of his age) and also a veteran mix.  There are plenty of build up mix's out there that are none heating, as spring comes in if the grass effects your arab as it does mine then you will have to alter things accordingly.

I use baileys lo-cal and alfa-A oil for my horse.  The apha A gives her the energy whilst the low-cal maintains her conition and gives her everything she needs without the weight piling on (she gets too fizzy on normal mixes!!).
