Sticky grass is the most fantastic freebie mother nature has ever given us as far as I am concerned. It grows among stinging nettles from April through to July and is best picked before it flowers. I give it to my horse who has had laminitis. It encourages blood flow around the body which in turn encourages healthy hooves and good hair grow and general wellbeing. It also contains antioxidants. The more blood flow to the hoof when you have a laminitic the better as the laminae stays nice and strong and keeps everything in one place. Even the fussiest of horses will eat it. Just give them as much as they want and when they have had enough they will leave it. I love it and I don't even eat it! I just benefit from my horse being healthy and happy. Remember though, this is not a cure for laminitis, just another aid which must be combined with the understanding of how to deal with the laminitic horse as a whole. Roll on Spring!
