I have a 15-year-old mare who won’t box, following an accident that happened when she was very young, before I got her.
I took a gentle approach and it seemed to be working but then another horse spooked her and we were back to square one. Do you think clicker training might help?

I have found clicker training can be very useful with loading. I have recently been using a trailer with the centre partition taken out but the breast bar left in. This leaves more room for a horse to balance himself, plus it is a more inviting space for the horse to walk into.
Please bear in mind that this is a difficult situation that can be dangerous. My advice is that you find a local TTeam practitioner who can come out to your yard and work with you and your mare.
