Design and fit 7/10
“These reminded me immediately of old-style hunt boots. They were a good fit and length and a true size, but quite big around the ankle. The leather was good quality too, very soft and supple. They don’t have a zip up the back so I found them hard to get off – you’d need to have a boot jack handy. They don’t have the high-cut dressage tops, so are more old-fashioned, but also kinder behind the knee. I’d score these boots higher if they had zips.”
Performance 8/10
“Good overall comfort, easy to clean and a soft footbed, but your feet sweat a lot in them, which makes them hard to get off. I also found the garter straps kept falling inside the boot and didn’t have any real function, so took them off. I wore them for two hours a day, and it was day three before they broke in, but when they did, the leather felt really soft and I thought they gave a good leg position too. They have very soft soles, so when I walked them I felt I was bouncing along.”
Value for money 8/10
“I think these are great value for money and I’d buy a pair.”

Design and fit 6/10
“These are a simple, pull-on design which makes them more difficult to get into. The lack of a zip also makes them quite wide around the ankle, as there needs to be room for your foot to manouveure around the ankle. The sole gave reasonable grip in the stirrup iron and there’s a garter strap to help keep the boots up in place.”
Performance 7/10
“I have narrow ankles, and as these boots were wide in the ankle, I found them a very generous fit, so they didn’t make me feel the horse much, or give a close ride. There was a lot of creasing of the leather around the ankle, especially when I had my stirrups shorter for jumping. The boots wore well and were easy to clean but the lack of zip meant they couldn’t give a close fit.
Value for money 6/10
“For me, £250 for these boots is overpriced.”
