After my initial impression that the Contour body protector looked very solid, I was pleasantly surprised when I put it on that I had complete freedom of movement. I barely noticed I had it on the whole time I was schooling the young horses, despite some of them being less than easy! I cross-county schooled four horses in a row and didn’t feel the need to remove the body protector in between.

The protector has become noticeably moulded to my body each time I wear it and, although I don’t believe it’s possible to cross-country school without getting hot, I didn’t feel this protector was any less breathable than others I’ve used. The front zip fastening is relatively easy to do up, and the Velcro and popper over the top make sure there’s no chance of it coming undone. The Velcro tabs at the side allow you to fit the protector perfectly, although they’re a little difficult to grab hold of and adjust, especially when wearing gloves.

In all, I’m very pleased with the performance of this body protector –it’s very comfortable and hasn’t deteriorated even with heavy use. I’ll certainly continue to use it. The only downside I would have to say is the price – it’s quite a bit more than I’ve paid in the past. However, if it saves me from serious injury I would gladly pay it.
