This was easy to put in place and had no straps to fasten, but it was very stiff, which made it tricky to adjust as it didn’t bend with the saddle or horse’s back. It sat well under the saddle, giving a good clearance over the withers, and looked smart. I used it on my TB with a cotton saddlecloth and found it very rigid, holding the saddle away from the back instead of flexing with the movement. However, the mesh ensured it was quick to dry and my horse didn’t get too hot during work. The pad stayed in place and didn’t drop onto the withers, but my saddle didn’t feel secure and slipped back slightly. This pad has washed well and still looks like new. It’s good quality and lightweight, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
