When I got this, I wasn't aware that the rug was designed for the chunkier horse - it was for my 17.3hh Thoroughbred. Chiparus is very big boned for a TB, and has an incredibly deep girth, but the rug slipped right back over his shoulders during the first night.
However, I then decided to use it on my pure bred Irish Draught, and it did exactly the same thing with him!
I didn't like the front straps, which feel very cheap.
This rug would be very good value for a horse it fitted right - but I have since tried it on several horses I consider chunky, and it has slipped back on them all, even though it looked fine when it was first put on. Maybe buying a size smaller than you'd normally use may help.
