"The integral neck is lined to prevent rubbing and there’s lining at the chest, too, which seems to have worked, as Vespa has not had any rug rubs. Being young, I thought she might object to the belly flap, but she was fine with it.

“This is generous in sizing – Vespa’s usually a 6ft 3in rug, but a 6ft fitted her in length. On the downside, it was tight across her chest, and at the front of the chest area the design of the rug leaves a lot of skin exposed, which flies can easily get to. The neck cover fitted snugly but did tend to slip down as she moved about the field. There’s a fly mask available with this rug, and attachments at the top of the neck to which to fit it, but I didn’t have the mask to use.

“In all, I liked this rug – it fitted quite well and offered good protection.”
