What’s great?
Julie says: “ I’m not a lover of clipping but Boris (my horse at the time) used to get hairy very quickly and needed doing about four or five times over the winter. He was a big horse so each clip took ages. I wanted clippers that were light and easy to use. Along came the Lister Star – Lister’s latest edition to it’s clipper stable.
“I liked these clippers from the off. They look good, lightweight and I could get into most of my horse’s nooks and crannies with them. They’re quiet with low vibration – I even managed to get most of Boris’ head done before having to switch to trimmers for his ears. After a year’s worth of work, they were still like new and easy to clean and maintain.
“A special feature of the clippers is the full width head, designed to duct air over the blades to keep them cool and also blow hair away from the user. I’ve noticed the blades stay cooler for longer, but I still ended up a hairy mess so I’m not sure about the blowing hair business.”
What’s not so great?
Julie says: “The only down side to the clippers was that they’re mains operated and I would have liked a cordless pair. Saying that, the Star has turned out to be so easy to use I no longer covet a cordless set!”
