RE: I’m being bullied at my livery yard. The staff hate my horse and call him really awful names. I’ve overheard the yard manager brag about how she takes his feed off him if he ‘pulls a face’. I’ve also seen her hit another horse with a shavings fork – and my horse has developed a fear of brooms. The manager and her friend even love spooking the horses (I’ve had a bucket of water thrown at mine). I’ve tried talking to the yard owner but she won’t hear a bad word about the manager. I’d move yard

Im sorry to hear that, I know how you feel as i had the same thing happen to me. Where i was i used to get picked on and bullied as no one like my young Arab plus they all used to talk behind my back saying i should not have a young horse as id only been riding under a year when i had him, if i asked for help or if some thing was wrong with him they would not help dont get me wrong not all were like it only 99% of them were this was 17yrs ago now i have found a nice farmer who lets me rent 3 stables and 10 acers and its cheaper, as for experience if i had a health problem the vet as always at the end of the phone plus i have a very good instructor who i have been with for 20yrs. My Arab is now 23yrs old and we have been together for 22yrs and we compete at Advance Endurance. I know this is not always posible but you must be happy or you and your horse can suffer.

Boyfriends come and go but my Arabs are for life

Please, please move yards.  Explain to the new yard what's happening.  There will be somebody there with a box who will help you out and you can just give them some money for petrol and their time.  It will be probably be difficult to report to the RSPCA or ILPH until you leave.  But please get your horse out first.

Please let us know what happens.

you really need to move yards especially for the horse and you dont put up with it anymore and make sure they have no reasons to be any where near your horse x good luck :)

If you can't get a friend to transport you, look in the yellow pages for a horse transport company - you didn't say where your yard is but there are many willing to travel long distances to accomodate you - and get you and your horse away from there as soon as possible. There is no point in you paying good money only for you and your horse to be abused, and apart from anything else abuse of a horse or a person is completely unacceptable. It takes some being brave, but do call the ILPH or R/SSPCA and at least give them a moral raincheck. Please get yourself somewhere where both you and your horse can be safe and happy. x

Some yards will transport your horse for you, for a small fee, especially good ones! I would also try to get some evidence on your mobile phone camera if possible as the police would be able to help, animal cruelty is a criminal offence. Have you spoken to other yard users? You may find you are not alone and several of you going to the yard owner will have more weight than just one of you. Good luck

Listen carefully to EVERY piece of advice you are ever given, then forget it all and do it your own way.

wow thats ridiculous that you cant just go down to the yard without people abusing you.id say move yards its really your only option. id report their behaviour to the ilph or the rspca but make sure you get him out first, you don't want him to deal with the repercussions if they withhold feed for just "pulling a face" i think he just has taste in who he likes. hopefully the new yard is nicer and you can start enjoying him after all its what you bought him for. good luck xx

it's only me!

It must be really awful to be in your position. I think that your only option is to move yards... i know you said that you have no transport but surely you know somebody that has a trailer you could use? Or hire one for the day? Or if the yard is nearby you could ride your horse to the new yard? You really have to do something, and quickly. You dont want this behaviour to continue x

xXx You cannot train a horse with shouts and expect it to obey a whisper xXx
