Hi

This is now the third time of trying to get something in here to say Hi!

I will be brief as I am now getting frustrated at my pc.  At least, I am hoping it's my pc and not this site.

I have a story to tell but at the mo, I will just say Hi.

I'm a seasoned girl who wouldn't be without my 'me time'.

More on that subject in due course.

I have a beautiful (of course) 10yo 15.3 Ardennes (we think) mare.  Sweet as candy... her name is Polly.  More on her another time.
I have owned 3 horses - but not til I was 40!   A story not to miss!! 

Watch this space 'guys'...

pics to follow... it might be them that's causing the probs. Hmmmm

Hello Have just joined the forum.  Nice to know their are some other more mature members out there!  I too got my first horse when I was 40, then fell pregnant and had to sell her on due to lack of time.  Three years later we bought a 3 yr old NF pony (who was pregnant!!) so we have her and her filly (now 2)  and have just moved to Scotland and bought a Fell pony to add to the bunch.  Its been wonderful having a foal from birth and very challenging at times.  We favour the Maxwell techniques, which have worked a treat.  The Fell is a difficult character in comparison to the baby, he is scared of EVERYTHING!  so we are working on d -sensitising etc.  We dont have much history on him, but I really think having a horse from day one is probably the best solution if you have the time. At least you know everything about them, and all their vices (if any) will be from you!

And hello to maisiemouse  Bet its fun having a foal, i got mine when he was about 15months would have liked to go younger but didnt quiet dare  but it is nice knowing everything about them as i want to keep him for life but i'd also buy a older horse to coz i think they are lovely to!!

You sound pretty brave to me... I thought I was mad but your story has a tinge of insanity to it!! LOL... I am so glad that all has worked well for you.

I would love to move to Yorkshire (my bro lives there). It is stunning and the dales are breathtaking.
