Re: photo gallery of you and your horse/pony jumping

This is me and Max jumping.  He absolutely loves it, but I have gone back to being very nervous before a show as I had a few falls one after the other in the spring as I was ill and shouldn't really have been jumping at all.  I've had a couple of lessons lately (my instructor is fantastic) and my confidence is coming back.  We do a lot of Hunter Trials which we both love, but I want to improve my show jumping this year.  Because Max is small (14.2) I tend to think he can't jump very high, but as these pics show, he is more than capable, he just needs his mummy to be a bit braver!  I have a lot more confidence across country, I find SJ a lot more nerve wracking (any tips on getting rid of the nerves would be greatly appreciated!)

Also can't understand why my legs go so far back over the jump.  I can't feel myself doing it, and have recently plucked up the courage to have my stirrups shorter, but it doesn't seem to help in that department.   Any advice?

This is me and my horse kimberley aka Actinium Lily, jumping with the SJAI (Showjumping Association of Ireland) at Derry Eq. Club!  She loves jumping but normally goes really really fast =I.. shes not even 15.2hh so she tries her best =] She jumps about 1.10/1.20 at home but has only jumped as high as 1m at registered shows..
