Training a lazy young horse to jump

Ive bought a 5 year old Irish bred mare in March after having to retire my other horse because of artheritis. i am training her to event but we are still at the basics of jumping at the moment. We got up to 70cm the other day with fillers but she seems to be lazy from her back end and tends to knock the poles down and doesnt seem to bothered. we were told she is undeveloped through one side of her body by our physio so i want some good training exercises to help her use her back end more so she doesnt knock down the poles, specially when we start going out doing competions. i havent taken her out xc yet so she may be better with solid large fences?

thanks :)

Re: Training a lazy young horse to jump

My mare can be lazy with her back feet when jumping and find it really helps to give her a good warmup with lots of collected trots and canters in an outline as it gets her bouncy with lots of energy, maybe some pole work would help too? I don't know if this will work with yours but hopefully it will help a bit! :)
