Until yesterday I didn't know how good all mine are at doing half passes.

Yesterday morning we had howling wind and torrential rain here in dear old Devon, and when I got to the field all 4 were looking rather sorry for themselves with their bums to the wind - field shelter and stables are open to them all the time but no, they prefer being out and looking like martyrs !!

Then when I put out haylage for them as I always do in little piles all over the field, rather than turn sideways on or face the wind, they were either walking straight ahead or doing beautiful half passes and lateral work to get to the next pile - even Captain the little shettie.

Try doing it when they were ridden though was a totally different story !!

Haha, they're so funny!

Whilst watching the Olympic dressage, my son asked why the horses needed a rider.  What d'you mean, I replied. He then said "Well, Havoc does all that dancing, in the field, without you telling him too!"

Wish I could tell him how to whist riding,  best I can do is hang on when he spins round, lol!

Mine does lovely half passes when she spooks at Landrovers, thinks she's in the spanish riding school when seeing a horse killer log dragon rearing and walking backwards except ran out of room and ended down a ditch. A friend of mine who also rides nutters says " you don't know the colour of fear till you ride a horse"
