Morning alll (or to anyone who reads this)
Just an update like thread for anyone who is interested plus a huge moment I have been working towards since he came back into work Sept 2011.
August 20th 2011 Parsley had his first day out and began to be a pony again. He'd spent approx 9 months either in a stable (full box rest) or spending an hour or two in the deepest sandschool you will ever see in your life to support his feet which unfortunately had let him down with laminitis (Cushings).
Really emotional for my mum and myself to see him sound which had taken the best part of a year so this was a huge milestone as the vet had warned us at the beginning that he wasn't sure he'd make it six weeks. - But we pushed and worked hard, moved yards to support him and have him closer to home (5 minutes to be precise ;)).
Now I thought this tied in well with last nights session. I hadn't realised the dates until I made this video so I put in a little something at the end- a comparison type thing/a year on. I have been trying so hard to regain our schooling as he had been ridden properly at all about 5 years previous to this.
I was desperate to make sure he could work and use himself properly and was on the bit and it's been touch and go - (more rider error I think than him because I didn't ask him to maintain it..he'd do it, stop, and I couldn't be bothered to continue asking..thus - no on the bit lol!). But we''ve finally cracked it - we've got it in walk and it is coming in trot - HOOOOORAH! I cannot tell you how proud I am of him and us as a team. I never thought we'd actually be able to work like that together but I worked damn hard so here we are. The new and improved Char and Parsley lol. We've got it once properly now..so just keep working and the rest will follow I believe.
Thanks for reading..sorry it is so long! I actually made this video in mind to show you guys actually because a lot of you knew how ill he was and quite clearly not anymore (the vid is of the proud moment from last night!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN9NcPya9TU&feature=youtube_gdata
and just a little other one I made of my friend jumping him if anyoneis interested - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFFQj0U7yyA&list=UUjYP8VJ8TbRkxV_ai0TMuPw&index=2&feature=plpp_video

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.
