My 'helpful' horse

Well in the end I decided to get a 24 by 12 shelter logic shed for a field shelter.  Basically it's a giant tent!  Anyway, I thought last night would be a good time to make a start on putting it up.  I drove in the field and Barny (my 2 year old) was fascinated by the car - he wouldn't get out of the way so I tooted at him but he didn't even flinch!  That's looking promising for road work!

So I started unloading all the poles and Barny very helpfully picked them up and put them where he thought they should go!  It was really cute but I thought I'd better electric tape myself in or I'd never get anything done, but then he picked up the end of the electric rope and ran off with that!  Eventually I managed to get it back and untangle it all and then when I'd almost fenced around the area Barny and Munchie decided to join me and inspect the area.  So by the time it got dark, I'd unloaded half the poles and fenced off the area and joined about 3 of them together!

The dog got a good run around at least because all of Barny's 'helping' included a long game of chase the dog.

If I ever get the shelter up I'll post some pics.

Barny seems like a real character!   Be interesting to see the pics of shelter, sounds unusual; that is if you ever manage to get it up with Barnys 'help' ! - Take the dog again, might keep him out of the way!

Had to laugh at this - no offence to other breeds, but that is so typical of cobby types.

I have seen those things advertised and wondered what they'd be like in windy conditions - be interesting to hear how things go.

Ha ha lol what a lovely little boy helping his mummy! My little Boomerang used to help e by making extra jobs emptying his water buckets and kicking them round the field. I thought I would get clever and put big heavy stone in each one so he cant lift them so now he kicks them til most of the water is gone and then tips them up! If he feels really helpful he sneaks up when I am poo picking and kicks the wheelbarrow over before legging it to hide behind Apollo!

They're such great fun, aren't they?  My shire used to pick up his feed bucket when it was empty and hand it to me.  I should've called him Oliver Twist!
