WOW !! Showjumping gold, and I have no nails left !!!!

What a brilliant, nailbiting afternoon watching the showjumping, and then when it went to a jump off......all our riders did so well, but when Peter Charles had to ride last and it all hung on him, he really pulled all the stops out with such a careful clear ride.......

I'm exhausted, and that was just watching, lol !!

Best of luck to Nick Skelton for the individual  tomorrow, and for the dressage riders.

I was watching on the computer at work, could barely look in the jump off, they were so calm and made it look so easy god knows how they held their nerve. Another well deserved gold !

It was just awesome! I was literally on the edge of my seat and imaginary rode every fence!

Felt so proud and even had a tear in my eye (embarrassing seeing as I was at work). Have promised my boss I'll go back to being a good employee after tomorrows dressage. Sooooooo want Charlotte and Valegro to get gold!!!

Eeeeeeek sooooooo excited!!!

Wow, wasn't that fab, a big well done to all the riders, grooms, trainers and support teams that contributed to their success and we mustn't forget the horses as well!  Let's hope as Richard above says it creates a positive publicity drive to get more equestrian sports on mainstream channels with positive media coverage and not just rely on the specialist press.

I enjoyed watching it. I stopped watching showjumping a few years ago as i got fed of seeing the same riders jumping for Britain. It was refreshing to see 2 younger riders there and they rode brilliantly, i even enjoyed watching the 2 oldies. As much as i like the Whittakers and i do think they are fantastic riders i just so fed up of seeing them all the time when there are so many good riders out there that can do a great job, as has been shown this week.

I have also enjoyed watching the dressage today. They did fantastic.

I actually know Scott Brash from up here in BSJA Scotland, and I have to say we are all bursting with pride!  He's a lovely guy with a calm approach, and it was great to see he rode with the same chilled out way that he's known for at home and didn't let the moment affect him in any way.  He's a joy to watch with a special quality, and so good to see him get to the top.  Even in the collecting ring he's as cool as a cucumber.   I felt like a proud mum (and I've not got kids!) watching from behind my cushion holding my breath!  And as for Nick Skeltton, I remember watching him on the telly on a Saturday afternoon when they ran weekly show jumping from Olympia on BBC grandstand, and he would have been younger than Scott back then - how old do I feel and I'm only 40!

Let us hope the publicity has a knock-on effect in the years to come. I was listening to one of the mainstream BBC radio channels this morning on the way to work and the presenter was asking what had happened to Show Jumping on Television. Where had it gone? Why wasn't the HOYS still on TV's prime-time Saturday evening slot?

Just maybe .....

Me too, I remember watching when I was younger, though I think in those days it was David Broome and Harvey Smith......

And although we were definitely in line for a medal in the dressage, it wasn't on one of the main channels - too boring for the general public I suppose.

I`m very, very happy for England getting the team gold medal, but I`m thrilled to bit about our individual gold. Like greyandbay said no nails left to chew.

With the greatest of respect ENGLAND did not win the team gold medal, BRITAIN did - and Scott is actually Scottish as well.
