Fly rugs?

I've been trying to find the perfect flyrug for my horse and pony because theirs so many flies where they are kept at the moment. They have some at the moment but i was thinking off getting one with a neck and belly bit but wasnt sure what make would be best and if they were any good?.

So was just wondering if anyone knew of any good fly rug?

Re: Fly rugs?

The problem I found with Sabina was she sweated like anything with a fly rug on, so now she wears plenty of fly spray, & Skin so soft plus a fly mask without a nose as she hates those with a passion.

Gypsy Gold does not chink & glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.Tonka & Lara my beautiful horses RIP, Nelson,Chloe & Kitty the cats.

Mark Todd and Weatherbeeta both do excellent ones with neck and belly, and they're good quality.

I think other makes do but I can't think offhand other than the Horseware Rambo sweetitch type rug which is very expensive.

I have a rambo one which i quite like.

My boy is happier with it on, its quite a  snug fit too, no room for the buggers to get underneath x

Mine is some random make but couldnt be without it! The biggest thing i find is having one which has a long neck with ear holes as otherwise the necks just seem to slip and barely cover anything. I put her fly mask on last as helps keep everything in place :)

Re: Fly rugs?

Look at Derby House - they have some brilliant offers at the moment, their own brand fly rug (not the sports one, the grey and blue one) is £25 at the moment if they have the size you want. I swear by mine, am miffed they don't have the size I want for my new horse. It has integral neck, with holes for ears, a belly flap AND it comes with free matching fly mask.
