Bucked off!

Havoc bucked me off .       Couldn't believe it.

How many swear words can you fit in between horse and floor - quite a few!

He'd had a couple of days off due to a cut leg, and was ridden the day before, so wasn't too fresh.

We had just had a lovely well behaved ride round our field, listening to me and trotted over some trotting poles beautifully (new thing for him - until recently he always leapt the lot in one go)

So decided a little canter up the field to finish off. Started great, got a little fast, so asked him to trot - no way - yanked the reins, head down and off I flew. Landed on my back, bruised my pelvis and got knocked out. When I got up, he was grazing , watching me.

So now I've pulled something in my groin - hurts to walk, so won't be riding for a while. Annoying as he's been going so well lately.

So now I'm looking at back protectors, and a new hat.

And Havocs having more time off, can't even do ground work as it hurts !

Oh well, at least I've got the excuse  to go shopping at saddlery places - and drool over what I cant afford! (and probably spend too much anyway!)

Re: Bucked off!

Now question why? do teeth need looking at, back hurting his not yours, foot problems, always look for a cause before thinking they are taking the mick, my horse is an expert can do a 360 spin rear and run backwards in to a ditch thankfully a hunting breastplate to keep saddle from slipping during a violent nap and a plant also a very useful handle, I was caught out first time she did it, now sit there muttering death threats and I never carry a riding crop.

Goodness, that sounds painful - hope you'll soon be feeling better, arnica and hot baths with epsom salts do wonders, btw !!

And it'll give you an excuse for anything you want to get out of doing, lol.

Glad to hear that Havocs' leg is better - is that where he got caught in the fence?

Look after yourself and enjoy the shopping.

Hope that the hurting has stopped now and you feel better.

Re: Bucked off!

Thanks guys!  Yes feel much better now, wasn't too shocked when it happened and am just hoping my confidence isn't affected.

All the usual checks have recently been covered, so, as for cause, I'm pretty sure it was over exuberence on H's part as he was feeling so well!  Also I've recently changed his bit for a milder one, so he may have taken the mick a bit! Shall have to be carefull with that!

Sue; no it was Manny had the accident with the fence, this was a minor cut Havoc had, done goodness knows how in the field - I've got electric fencing round his paddock, and can't for the life of me figure out how he did it!

As for not doing things; isn't it amazing , when you've got more time to do things, how much more there is to do!  I've actually taken my winter rugs to the cleaner now too lol!

Thanks to all once again!

Re: Bucked off!

You have to come to the conclusion that we are all nuts everyone of us, trying to ride something that weighs a good part of half a tonne, my mare is 660kg 16.2h, also having a mind of their own but where would we be without them besides richer and no worries.
