Re: Just wanted to share
Thanks Brook. Im really not sure how big he is going to make - last year i would have said 14hh max as he was only about 12.3hh. I was worried he had been stunted due to being starved almost death before i got him. But he has grown loads this spring. I measured him in April and he was 13.1 and I measured him again last week and he is now 14hh. He has gone all lanky again so may still be shooting up. He is only just 3 so may have a few more inches in him yet. 14.2 would be nice but im only little so he is big enough if he doesnt get any bigger.
He is lovely thanks to lots of hard work. He hadnt done much when i got him last year. Wouldnt lead properly, only been tied up twice, was still a colt, used to bite terribly, extremely head shy due to being hit, wouldnt pick his feet up and could be quite dominant.
His true personality though is very nice natured, he is affectionate and totally puts his trust in me. I am so proud of him , we have got through all his issues and he has the makings of being a fab pony. I hadnt had a horse in 13 years (since i was 16) when i got him and it was totally unplanned. I couldnt bear to see him going to the meat factory or a dealer and was talked into having him. He didnt cost me anything but i did wonder what i had let myself in for the first few weeks i had him. Nothing like the 20 year old been there done that TB X i used to loan. I really chucked myself in at the deep end with him but i think all he needed was some proper care and someone to trust to show his true self. I dont ever regret getting him. x
