SSSSOOOOO Not Impressed!!

Today I went up the yard to turn Winnie and Barney out for the afternnoon, only to find the farmer that owns the yard I keep my 3 on D.I.Y on was out in MY ASIGNED FIELD, in his tractor CUTTING THE F*CKING GRASS, not to say i was appocolipticly cross is an understatment, the only reason I didn't physically drag him out of the tractor and mow him is because my 4yo niece was with me.Not only has he done this, he has left all the grass cuttings loose in the field, so I doubt I'll be able to use it tomorrow either, would you be as angry as I was, or was I over reacting?? So I am once again looking for a new yard to move to.

Vik1 are you seriously saying that yu'd be OK with him taking a huge tractor and grass cutter out in the field with a mare and her 1 month old foal?? If so you are either braver or stupider than me!! It is simply not Ok for him to do this WITHOUT informing me or asking me first, the ONLY saving grace is they where not out, and I have spoken to the yard manager and they will not be going out in that field again, I have also given notice to leave, as this on top of them using my other field for clay pigeon shooting, and then not tidying up after themselves is takng the piss, especially as I am paying £400 a month !!

Also the field was not in need of topping.

I do think its a little inconsiderate of them to leave the cuttings in the field if they HAD to cut the grass (though why they would need to if your horses are grazed in their is beyond me as surely they would keep the grass down) I think maybe getting that cross is a bit much for your blood pressure ;P but other than that i can defo understand where your coming from!! and too right looking for somewhere else if they have no respect for your fields when you pay that much!! poor little might would of been scared for life if he had been out :(

There are plenty of posts about winnie and barney so I assumed most people knew. even so I still wouldn't be happy if he was an adult and no way would I put them out with the tractor in the field, and I'll say again the field was not in need of topping.

Communication here is the case, YO are a breed of their own some need putting out of their misery for the good of everyone. What also is not to be forgot is that you as a horse owner have a contract with that YO who has a duty of care not putting all the onus on the horse owner and due to their actions causing your horse to be injured you have a case against them, if your horse escapes through their fencing for example its their problem not yours. You can see by my comments that I have come across some not very nice YO's and moved for for the sake of my horse, my sanity and also doing a mischief to the YO who its difficult to describe in polite society, now have a lovely yard with nice people and YO also the horses all want to be your friend thats besides the cats.

Gypsy Gold does not chink & glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.Tonka & Lara my beautiful horses RIP, Nelson,Chloe & Kitty the cats.

This is not really acceptable, I'm not surprised you're leaving. It's not so much the fact that the horses were out there as they would cope (although expecting a tiny baby and new Mum to cope is maybe a tall order ...) it's the fact that the grass was cut and the clippings left which is not good grass management in any way !!!

And £400 a month for DIY ?!! What's that all about ?!!

I'm 10 minutes by train from london which means, all the yards round here think they can charge stupid pricet. also the hay and straw is included, but to be honest its crap quality, the fencing is barbed wire, which I was ok with until Barneybee came along, when Buzzbee ha his accident in the lunge pen, they where fantastic and tbh I think that's what kept me there as long as I have been!! I'm now hunting maniclly for a affordable decent yard, not to far from home.
