OK, I have no problems with ZZ, she just takes her prascend with a treat, her Metformin is syringed - and if I am late with dose she gets annoyed and Danilon in a feed.  But Anya - arghhhhhhhh.

First few days 100 tablets twice a day, she was great popped them in her feed no trouble, then got wise to it.  Reluctantly went out and brought her favourite mix and fine for a few days, then covered in molasses, worked for 2 days, buried in apples - didn't work for a second so tried carrots - NO WAY.  Revert to syringe and crushing tablets then mixing with water - I wore most of it and now if I walk in with ahead collar, head up I can't reach - 16.1hh against 5'2"!!!

She has to have her tablets, now 85 twice a day so what's your tips, because I am running out of ideas - oh and forget hiding smell with garlic, peppermint etc - she is already wise to that!  I keep telling her every dose is costing me a fortune so can't afford to waste them :-(

Can you grind them up a bit and put them in  apple sauce( like in the jar of apple sauce!) and give her all of it in a small feed then give her the rest of her feed after? Good luck with Anya. xx

 oh what a nightmare, i no someone who used to  hide them in small jam sandwhiches, or marmite? except i dont think bread is actually very good for them.. good luck x x

my only idea is find someone tall to syringe!!!

my horses are my medicine, without them im even more crazy!

Tablets into apples sometimes works or ground up in a pestle and mortar then mixed into a paste with water and the good old syringe, but lucky to have a horse who just stands there, Tonka on the other hand would be a head lock job, difficult even though I am 6ft 2 in and 15 1/2 stone and he could lift me off my feet with his head.

OK, she hated apple sauce, she worked out quickly tablets were in bits of apple and carrot, despite the fact I used un-spiked and spiked fruit and veg! 

This morning I confess I lost my temper and stormed off the yard shouting "I am only trying to help" and have left her to get on with it, hyped up on sugar.

Down side of a treat/sugar/molasses free yard, you let them have some and BANG blows their minds away - didn't realise how placid they had become on the new feeding system started in December!  Oh well, I must have wasted £10 worth of medicine this morning, every dose is about £2!!!  I wonder what the recycling bin men think of hundreds of packets of drug packets in the waste!

What a nightmare for you! I had tips for getting a few tablets in, i.e. cutting tiny sections of apples and carrots, sliding the tablets in and then feeding a couple of normal sections of apple, a tablet filled section  a normal section etc so that the horse doesn't know which the offending section(s) is. Also the molasses thing in feed but 85 tablets is a whole different ball game to a few so  I'm really not sure. I think the only real way is srynging it in which I know you have tried and are struggling with but I honestly cannot think of any other way to get them into her system as she wont eat them any more. Could you use a chair or is she likely to knock you off that? 

I know what you mean about sugar intollerance though, Coco used to be a nightmare with sugar kind of like a kid on e-numbers, even a handful of cool mix would send him stressy, spooky, bad tempered and bolshy so was on a completely sugar free diet. Now he is a bit older he can cope with a bit of sugar but still not a lot.  

Good luck, I do really feel for you, you are fighting so hard to give her a good quality of life and manage her condition but she's not making it easy on you is she! I guess on the plus side she  must be  feeling better and has no problems giving you her opinion on the matter!
