Can I show a mare and foal on my own?

Can I lead my mare and her foal in hand at a show (M&M mini shetlands) or do I need another person to lead one of them?

Does the other persons outfit have to match mine or can it just be similar?

Also mares mane is a bit scruffy, wispy at the ends, is it ok to trim?  Any suggestions how to do it to look it's best and stay long?

Thanks a lot, hope you can help this is my 1st time i'm a showing virgin!!

yes, you will need someone else to lead either the mare or foal, and as long as you are both dressed smartly it's fine. trim the wispy bits off the ends of mane/tail if needed but leave everything else on and natural.

good luck and have fun

As chip said yes you will need someone with you and you both need to look smart. Make sure both mare and foal look clean and tidy and natural, don't over trim and make sure the mane looks natural and not pulled.
