how much is my saddle worth?

i have a brown leather sj/xc monoflap saddle, unbranded but someone has told me it is a berney bros from ireland, i have contacted them to ask them but no reply. it is in OK condition, nice and comfy, some stains here and there but hardly noticeable when being ridden. i just wish i had a big eventer to wear it :(

someone offered me £300 for it and i was more than happy to take this but they now don't think it will fit their horse so i've still got saddle. also is there any saddlers i could approach to buy the saddle from me? just to get rid of it. i have attached a pic, i have plenty more just ask.

also if you are interested in buying it just PM me :)

I would have thought you would have got £250 - £300 for it as it looks a decent saddle. Have you thought about putting it on preloved, horsemart, horse exchange or ebay? I'm sure there are loads of other places you could advertise it on aswell but they were the first ones that came to me.

Yes I have it on preloved, equine ads, horsemart, adhorse, and a few others. Had it on ebay for 10 days, it ended last night, I put it on for £400 buy it now or nearest offer, had a few watchers but nobody made an offer or even messaged me. I was half expecting to get at least 1 message after it ended asking if it was still available because when I had another 2 saddles for sale on there a few weeks ago that's what happened. Also have it advertised on horsey facebook pages too

Wish i could afford it but not looking to spend that much as not got that much. I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet with you having it on so many places.

What about taking it to a local saddler? I took my old show one and they bought it off me for a really good price, worth a try.... what size is the saddle?

You could take it to a local tack shop? The local one near me I know either buys them off you or keeps it in the shop and sells it for you for a small fee. It could be worth asking around shops or saddlers. How big is it?

It's ok if you give up as long as you come back later to try again.

17" seat and 7" d-d ring, would suit something with higher withers. already asked my local tack shop and they take 20% comission if it sells. i need to pay off my horse trailer so need to keep the money for myself, 20% is quite a big whack. i have contacted some local master saddlers for a quote.

Try the girls at First Saddlery at Rowallan, they're doing second hand saddles now and I think they would give you a fair price.

You could go down your local tack shop and find out if they sell saddles for customers. Our local tack shop does this and takes a small commission for the sale, they will value it for you and then it's up to you wether you want to price it at more or less than that (depending on how badly you want it sold etc) you may end up getting more money for it this way as a saddler will under pay as they do have to make a profit which is fair enough. Three hundred sounds reasonable to me, it's very unusual, I really like it and if I hadn't just bought my monoflap I may have taken it off your hands haha !!!
