Had to put Noah to sleep

Hi guys,

We had my lovely shire, Noah put to sleep a week ago.  He had heart failure and was developing an itchy skin condition that would have driven him mad.  The vet didn't think he'd last much longer so we thought we'd let him go before he was in pain.

What a beautiful boy he was, both in character and looks.  My 2 remaining boys are missing him like mad and for us it's such an obvious loss as he was like a beacon on the hill, being 17.2hh and a grey that could had advertised for Daz!

I've attached some photos below

1. - Me riding him last autumn

2 - Him galloping across the snow at his previous home

3 - Noah and Queenie (his best friend who passed away in November) when they first came to me.

Re: Had to put Noah to sleep

I am so sorry, he was a handsome chap I have a soft spot for shires having owned one many years ago.  The most gentle giants on Earth. Noah is at peace now and it is a very kind thing you have done. Thoughts and love are with you. xx

So very sorry. What a beautiful lad. That photo in the snow looks like a professional shot for some advert or other. The very worst thing about owning pets is the saying goodbye...but unlike our human loved ones at least we can spare them the final pain and discomfort. Hope your other horses settle down soon & that the Shire shaped hole in your heart heals x

I'm so sorry, it's such a hard decision to make, but  I hope he's reunited with Queenie and they're no longer suffering and in pain.

He was a stunning looking chap, and was very lucky to have enjoyed his life with you.

My thoughts are with you,

Sue xx

A very difficult decision, still miss mine Tonka, 2 years ago, then Lara  12 months ago, you have to remember them as they were.
