Re: How much riding??

Since my horse is not at home anymore have problems getting the riding in, the weather does not help nor does my age with knee and back problems, then a new horse who is an expert in taking the mick or words to that effect. We had an encounter today where halfway through the lesson in the school she decided to want to nap and want to rear also planting, she was not wanting to have the bit today either as she kept her teeth closed just wanted to be with her boyfriend a good firm handling and a kick on, also a firm voice worked wonders. In the past 3 weeks only about 3 days due to weather grrrr.

Re: How much riding??

About once or twice a week, mainly because there's no-where other than the roads and an orchard to ride in, also because of her behaviour and a dozen other things. She does have a massive field though, so I suppose she gets plenty of exercise cantering around that!

Tenor and Tilly are both ridden 5 times per week in the Summer and 3 times per week during the Winter. A mixture of hacking and schooling mostly. We are hoping to hire an arena nearby so Tilly can improve her schooling and Tenor can do a bit of jumping. When we hack out it's usually for 1-2 hours.

I ride 5 or 6 times a week. 1 jumping, 3 schooling and 1 or 2 hacks a week. I am lucky enough to share horses at a yard with a nice school all to myself and love riding in the rain as it seems to make the horses go better.

4-6 times a week. Parsley does about..10 hours? Sometimes more sometimes less.

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.

Coco gets ridden 5- 6 times a week. I school twice a week, and hack approx twice a week. My mum also takes Coco out for a hack 1 - 2 times a week.

Somewhere between 2 and 6 days a week normally!  Mostly hacking - about 1.5 to 2hrs per hack.  When we go in the school - maybe once a week, it's usually 20-30mins.

Depends on the weather; in winter sometimes don't ride for weeks, now weather's better, hopefully aim to ride or lunge/long rein 4-6 times a week.  Usually ride for half to 1 1/2 hours depending on time available.

I ride about 5-7 days a week. Hacking predominantly (2 or more hours of fast work and hills inc. natural jumps) then one 1 hour lesson and one 1 hour schooling session. Merlin is happier when kept fit so i keep him pumped ;D
