 I have one neddie. Who is spectacular. I must admit, riding wise at the moment we are mostly having downs but nonetheless, we love each other dearly!  To be fair, he is a pony of special needs and requires a lot of attention. He must stay at the weight he is - he must be exercised regularly, he has special medication to keep him normal, he must be in at night all seasons etc etc blah. So yes, he keeps me busy.

 

BUT

Recently I've been looking after another chap, who is only 5..he's a bit of a sod but he is an actual sweet. He's been in and I've been doing it. I can't lie, I have LOVED having a pair of chaps to do..I love the responsibility of my 'boys' not just boy. How odd.. I def will have another one as soon as I can. No fear though, Parcel is in his forever home obviously.. I mean as well as.

The pictures are recent, from yesterday :)

Who has a pair or more? Do you prefer this to having just one?

I definitely have more than 1. I have 4. When i lost Bramble i was left with just Danser and it just didn't feel right. It didn't take long enough to muckout and groom etc so i set about lookng for another one. I bought Charlie and got my numbersback up to 2. After a while my daughter really wanted a pony so i bought Wish for her so i had 3 to do. Last year in November i decided that me and Charlie just weren't right for each other, basically he loves jumping anything bigger than 3 ft and i only do upto 2ft which he isn't interested in, so i came to the very sad decision that i would sell him and then i went to look at Sky and i bough her so now until the right home come along for Charlie i have 4 horses. I don't want to ever only have 1 again though, it's not enough

 2 is hard work especially when you ride them both, like I did last saturday :) But super fun as both are VERY VERY different!

 i have two i share and in the summer its hreat but in winter trying to get horses done with uni and everthing else is hell as im the only rider.

 I've got two, and i love having the pair to do,  i used to have both mares, then when we sold Dove, I only had flick, and it was very odd just having the one, then we got treacle and hes lovely and so easy but such a character.

 

I wish he could be in work but for various reasons he cant be, I'd love to have two ponies in work as i really could ride all day everyday, love the variation between horses and ponies. would love more equines but really cant afford it!

We had two for a long time, and it did seem right, one for me, one for daughter, both ridden sometimes together, sometimes not, and everything was going well.

Then we lost Grouse, I retired Bracken, got Monty so we still had two, and then last autumn we agreed to take on Fate and Captain as well - that was a bit of a shock as it was doubling the responsibility and it was coming up to winter.

But now it would be strange not having the four - I still don't ride, even though Fate can be ridden, as I do get very tired from the blood pressure problem, but the looking after them has always been my thing rather than riding ever was.

So yes, I can quite see how you're feeling - one is never enough !!

I have a pair and technically I own a trio - although Dolly is out on loan!

I love Dulcie and Luna dearly, but sometimes I do think ti would be nice to have just one horse to do! Two lots of mucking out, two lots of grooming, two lots of rug changing, two lots of feeding, two lots of haynets, two lots of hoof picking and leg washing when I bring them in....it takes it's toll! Plus, it leaves actual riding time sadly lacking.

Char - you know I would be pinching you to ride Luna if you didn't live so flippin far away!!!!!

Having two is great , however when a problem occurs (like Manny's leg atm) I find I don't have the time to give BOTH  the attention they deserve. Poor H is sulking 'cos I havn't spoken to him properly since mon!

 I have 4, but only one ridden, when it comes time for Rhodri to be ridden I will have to loan one or the other of them out or I won't be able to ride them both, I wont have time.  I'm hoping to find a sharer for the both of them, neither will be moved, whoever gets to loan will have free livery here but both my ridden boys will stay here so I know they are cared for properly.
