Stop her when you're hacking or schooling?

When you're hacking let her look around, so long as she's not being silly or naughty. She just wants to see whats around her, just being nose, theres no harm in that...

If she does it when schooling then try and keep your hands busy, no pulling or tugging, just slightly fiddle with the reins, keep her interested, loads of transitions, just try and her interested in what you're doing, not whats around her

when schooling try and get her onto a contact, ( if she doesnt already) as this will encourage her to be more focused on you, many people use sheepskin covers on their cheek pieces to stop them been nosy personally i dont like them, but i guess if they work they work.

I know for certian things you need your horse to keep her head straight, but, if your horse is really spooky or in a new place its a good thing she looks around every now and then, it keeps her mind wary of  where she is and whats going on around her. :)

Fiddle with the reins and then that will make ur horse concentrate on what's happening in his mouth instead of getting him bored. Text him, I read in PONY mag that if u text ur pony he listens more, so with ur 3 finges that are around the rein pretened u r texting your friend, or just do little squeezes with the reins!

Hope this helps

make SURE that your reins are even. - cant stress this point enough! also, make sure if your pony starts looking around...DONT look too. you make sure that your eyes stay focust forward, dont let it distract you. tighten the reins a little to show who's in conrol, but do not pull on his mouth! talk to him? click your tongue and say " *click* *click* 'walk on'" make sure you remain in control and he knows it. :) hope this helps xox

You can tell if a horse is focussed on something other than you when riding because her ears will both be pricked and pointed towards something. When you see her ears  prick at something pulse then give a small tug on the opposite or both reins she should then relax her ears. If she doesn't then say "walk on " sharply then nudge with your legs then flick or tickle her with a whip or "whip whop" rope. Alternatively stand and allow her around 20 seconds to look at the object before sharply walking past it. hope this helps!
