Silver was put to sleep today, at 1.45 by the vet. He had been suffering with laminitis and constant gravel. As well as his artheritis is his joints. He was 27.
I'm going to miss him more than I can say, he had a lovely last two years of retirement living out with a big herd (he was the boss!) and lots of laaaydeees!! :P. He was immense as a ridden horse, we went everywhere together. We would go out for mammoth hacks, he never napped or did anything out of line. His only trick was standing on his hind legs, woops. Silver could jump the moon and gallop with wings, i am so priviliged to have owned and loved him for 10 years. The boxes of rosettes just show what a super little horse he was.
Silver baby i'm sorry i couldn't make you better, I love you so much. I hope with me you will remember the good times and forget your past. You made me who i am in and out the saddle, taught me paitence and understanding as well as what it feels like to fly.
Thank you for being my best friend and companion, 10 years was not long enough. I hope you enjoyed being an oap, getting all them fit mares under your command. I know today you felt ok, maybe a little foot sore but I wanted you to go on a good day, without pain and a belly full of grass and apples. I hope you knew how loved you were, so talented and so smart. Most of all I love you, I will miss you. Thank you.
