Same situation. My sister wants to show her mare inhand who has lost a whole chunk of her mane due to stupid field. Massive chunk. Your horse doesn't look too bad. You could trim it?? Idk, my horse luckily has a naturally short mane through being an Appie!

are you allowed to completeley (sp) hogg a horse for shows? if you are that might be an option? also gives you a chance to grow his mane back :)

Watch out with a horse thats been hogged as the mane don't grow back right as was the case with Tonka but when fed Benevit by Feedmark helped a great deal. With the Gypsy Cobs full Mane, Tail, and feathers, they look fantastic and Tonka had that high action from the Welsh Cobs as he was Dales x Welsh Cob.

Gypsy Gold does not chink & glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.Tonka & Lara my beautiful horses RIP, Nelson,Chloe & Kitty the cats.

dont hog him! thin it with a thinning comb/ pull it and then trim it to even it up :)

then you can plait him up or just put some baby oil through it to make it shine and then spray it in place with hair spray ;)

That still looks long enough to plait. Thin it and pull it for a bit of a tidy up and just plait it reasonably tight. Hold any awkward fly away hairs down with hair gel and it'll look fine. Good luck for the show !!!
