I would never ever leave my saddle at the yard, the bridle I do leave as well as the head collars and rugs being used. What I love about my new yard is my own feed room / storeage, a larger stable that does not leak, a very helpful YO, plenty of grazing 10 acres for 3 horses for winter and another the same for summer, no barbed wire in sight, the gates have proper hinges and latches not like the last place using binder twine and lead ropes, an automatic water system to the fields that works unlike the last place,a large arena as well, downside well is it? you have to buy your feed bedding from the farmer this saves time running about getting the stuff. All the owners on the yard are as paranoid as me and elderly, only gelding on the yard has 2 mares in tow so a happy bunny, its funny watching my mare flirt and tease him with a mouthful of hayledge and he trying to eat what is hanging out of her mouth and she squeaking at him. The first yard years ago when I bought my first horse a piebald cob they insisted you left your tack there, so you would go to get your tack and find the numnah with chestnut hairs on rather than your horses and you had put a clean one on, then pieces missing off your bridle, and was started on when took my tack away as instructed by the YO's daughter, they were using Livery owners tack to use for the riding school naughty.

I've never been able to leave tack anywhere but home - our first rented place had a storage barn, but it was so damp everything went mouldy, and in our present field we're not allowed to keep anything like tack and feed there as it's still classed as agricultural land, so no storage allowed.

So the tack has always been at home and is covered by our house insurance.

I'd go for the move, sounds lovely !!

It sounds like you've decided anyway, and like others have said, transporting tack etc is a minor thing really.

It sounds like a good deal anyway, good luck!
