Ponies

 How many is to many?

Just seen a advert for a 6yr old highland mare a clean sheet done nothing at all so would be fun to play with and get going. But with 5 horses do i need another one????

I don't know how you cope with 5 lol ! We only have two and they take up all of our spare time, I guess that it must be very tempting for you so I'll be watching this space !! Take care and i hope that Fi is doing well Lyn XX

Well they do creep up on you......we started with one, and now have four - but i think that's enough for me !!

Is Fi getting any bigger?

Well if you feel that way inclined ;)

Although realisitically 6 is a proper herd..

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.

On the boring side, if you're asking then I'd say you're happy with what you've got.  Maybe you want someone to say stick with what you've got.  On the other hand, it might just be right up your street  (I personally find two quite enough!).

Re: Ponies

If someone had told me when we bought Tehya that we'd end up with two, let alone the five we've got now, I'd never have believed them!  We actually currently have 4 plus a friend's Shetland who is here as a companion for my daughter's youngster so is not "ours" but is on our caring schedule!  We have them over two sites which makes life a little harder.  Ideally, I think we should have one each but, as someone has said, they creep up on you!  If i had more time, money and space I'm sure I'd have more horses but we have our hands more than full with the ones we have now!  Only you can know really!! :o)

Re: Ponies

Just a thought and definately not wanting to sound negative...............would it be better to wait until Fi has her foal, as bringing in another mare may upset her. I am not saying dont, just to think about it ( which you have already done i expect.............sorry grandma and sucking eggs just sprang to mind!)

Keep us posted. xxx
