Re: Spiders

I have a few golden rules re spiders...  1. if the spiders are tresspassing then im allowed to squish em!  2.They cant be put outside as my kids would like to do because they are still tresspassing  3. God didnt make spiders (the devil did!!)  4. They havent actually done anything to me "Yet" as i'm clever and got in there first.  5. They were thinking of doing something tho (you can tell by the way they move one leg as you go near em). 6.  when i say tresspassing i mean any bit of space where i am at the time (no i dont have to own the space either!!!)

OOh and flys are a waste of time too, all they do is eat poo and land in my tea  (then get squished)

Dont mind mice they are rather quite cute.

I am VERY used to mice as one of our cats is ace at catching them - she doesn't harm them, carries them very carefully and brings them in for us to see, looking very proud of herself, and then lets them go so she can play with them, which leaves us having to catch them again - OH has bad knees, so it's me who has to crawl around all over the floor......she's brought in 3 over the last 24 hours.

And yes they are quite cute, my favourite are shrews, they have such lovely long noses, lol !!

Re: Spiders

I am not a fan of spiders but as long as they stay within eye-shot and at a reasonable distance, I can moreorless cope!  I leave them in the stables but once a year tend to do a bit of brush over *shudders* to remove the biggest cobwebs!  I too have been bitten by a spider that jumped out of my duvet cover as I shook it - hurt a bit like a sting and was a bit swollen and rather sore for an hour or so after!

Re: Spiders

Do you know they have an eye in each knee joint?  That means they have 8 eyes and 360 degree vision - no good can ever come from a creature like that.

Re: Spiders

I don't like spiders but they do a good job at keeping the flies down so i tend to leave the webs up and sweap them twice a year. They are also good at catching the dust in the stable.

Rats and mice dont bother me. Good job as we have had a bad problem this year with rats coming through from the farm 2 doors away. They keep coming onto my garden and into my stables.

Re: Spiders

there's only me in our house that likes spiders - I have a special glass that I pop over them, slide a card beneath and outside they go.  don't believe in killing them.  Sarah goes mental if there's one in her room.  was in Florida  , 33,000 odd miles away and she phones me to say she has a spider in her room!!!! .    she then phoned me a little later to say it was under a glass (brave brave girl) which then had 2 large books on top and one of alan's small weight on top of them waiting for her then bf to come and move it.  the only things I don't like are maggots, moths , butterflies and fish (dead or alive).

My late Aunt had a very large rescue male cat who thought the world of my aunt anf brought her a wonderful present a very large live RAT which proceeded to do the wall of death around her kitchen, don't think my aunt was happy somehow.
