Best way to get winter coat out?

I bought my TB ex racer in december... she hadnt beeen rugged up all winter until i got her, so you can imagine she is a VERY fluffy TB - Almost as fluffy as a bear! haha... Alot of the coat has come out, like on her neck and she has a lovely smooth shiny summer coat coming through, but over her stomach and bum she is still very furry! Obv i dont want to really clip her at this time of the year as it will probably spoil her summer coat - take out the shine and smoothness - and im not sure what she would be like to clip anyway.

How else can i get this fluffy hair off her? I groom pretty much everyday so its not like shes a massive scruff ball and ive been using this small pad thing to try get the hairs out but this takes forever and doesnt result in alot of hair coming out.

I use a furminator on my lot, like a little rake, like a kids nit combe with shorter teeth - for want of a better way of describing it

I use a grooming block on Coco, whilst being a big fella he is a complete woos and doesn't like anything too rough on his skin so he hated me using the rubber curry comb on him and someone on here suggested a grooming block. They are cheap (£2 - £3) and kind of like a rough square pummice stone and you only have to use them gently on the horse and the hair just comes out. I had to ask in my local tack shop last year and they knew what I was talking about and showed me where to find them! Coco even likes it on his face!  I have also heard fab things about furminators as well but never used one!

I use a shredding blade on my cobs and it works fab, I also know some people who use a hoover!! As long as your horse isnt scared of it and you regularly clean it out then its a quick way to get rid of hair and dust :-)

another vote for the furminator but I dont take al the coat of my two as our weather is very unpredictable this time of year so I want them to have enough left over to self heat.

It has been calculated thay any two thoroughbreds picked at random will on average have more than 13% of their genes in common.

In that photo with Tasha, JJ looks much bigger than 14hh! He looks really tall.;O Surely not!

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.
