This is the first day that I have ever kept Tenor and Tilly in their stables all day !! They both seemed pretty laid back about it as the rain lashed it down with no let up often accompanied by howling winds. We had a short break from the rain late afternoon and managed a quick hack out to stretch their legs. Arrived back just in time as it pelted down yet again with such strong winds i thought that we were going to lose the tack room roof !! Luckily it stayed on. I'm getting fed up of this now and need a sunshine fix lol.

 

How about everyone else, have your neddies been in today, how has your week been so far ?

Haha you dont by any chance live in norfolk, do ya?! It has been exactly the same with us. Lucking, we have a new forest and an exmoor, so they manage to stay out with rugs, as they are still hanging onto their winter coats!

 Yep. Pony has been in for the majority of the day. I managed to fit in my lesson yesterday inbetween periods of rain! How lucly was that

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.

 mine were in, and rather happy about it too! managed to let treacle out for a wander round the little yard while i mucked him out in the afternoon, then was straight back in.. same with flick managed to get her on the yard for 5 mins to quickly muck out..cant let her wander about as will trash the place. 

 

Weather is terrible here, very very heavy rain and wind is quite scary.. supposed to be worse on saturday whilst I'm working out doors with horses .. yipeee ... or not. :(

 I was mean and put mine out, found them under a tree looking very grumpy. They did thire best to canter into stables. If i had left them in, they would of been desperate to get out. I cant win lol

Ours live out anyway, but I'd put med weight rugs on as the rain was just lashing down and going pretty much straight through the light weights.

I'd put down hay in piles near the hedge to shield them from the weather, but apparently it was really scary there, and they kept suddenly careering off into the middle of the field again.....and the stable and field shelter were even more scary to be near, lol !!

Tonight they were still very nervy, the least little thing setting them off, but the rain had nearly stopped and we're due a dryish night before more rain again tomorrow - when will it ever end?

We've got flooded lanes, the river Exe must be as high as I've ever seen it, and there's loads of fields that are just lakes......

Today here in Sussex there's not so much wet falling out the sky, but tis a tad blustery!  Mine live out, did pop them in their stables yesterday morning for their hay, which they seemed to appreciate for a short while, but when finished they didn't hang around and went out in the field to find their own shelter.  Today took my horse into the school to do some horse agility.  His companion sneeked into the school first, cheeky chap.  Then got a bit blustery, so let them both run loose.  They started playing games with each other, rolling, having a canter blast, facing each other lifting their front legs.  Also started picking up the traffic cones, and carrying a bit of hose pipe around.  So I just sat on the fence and watched them.  Very satisfying and they seemed to be having a ball!
