Pony Update - Pictures

Hi all :)

i haven't posted here for ages and have rather a bit to update y'all on so here goes - it might be a waffle so skip to the pictures if you like!!

i am now home from my placement in oxfordshire - i learnt alot and i cannot thank them enough for the help they gave me with pip - she is 100 times the horse i ever hoped she'd be and i am so pleased with her. Pony gush over. for now ;) but i just decided that if your going to get anywhere in this business you need to do it for yourself and not rely on other people because 1)they take the piss  and 2) are only really looking out for themselves.  so here goes another chapter in my life!!

i'm home again so have plenty more time to fiddle around on here - im going to try and post alot more :)

Pip is almost 4 :) they grow up so fast :')  she loves her work and the variety we give her and is loving being back at home causing trouble for any one who remembers her houdini posts :L her flat work is just superb at the moment - my first horse who isn't a complete deamon to do flat work on and has even convinced me to do my first dressage test :O we are doing intro A (: walk and trot! its next saturday so wish us luck!!

im also starting a small business selling everything horsey at very good prices - so watch this space :)

i also have a GP 17inch MW saddle for sale if anyone is interested - brand new - only used twice £200 but will accept offers :)

and i stiill cant get on the NAF superflex leader board -_-

How is everyone else in the YourHorse Comunity?

Leanne and Pip :)

Goodness can't someone do a little update about there clearly capable youngster without recieving a load of crit from peope who know little to nothing about the horse and its situation.

I think she looks strong and fab!

My young lad is doing brilliant, he's 4 now, we did some XC schooling the other week and we have our 3rd pleasure ride on sunday, He loves his work

I don't see crit.
I was hoping that the age was a serious typo.
Jumping a horse at that age with weight on its back, let along over solid fences is irresponsible for the horses long time health- the bones aren't formed well enough and you can cause serious damage.

sammy buddy is such a dude! so honest! what a good boy - just watched your videos ;)

im going to sub when i next sign in so sub me back - i have two subbers ;) i dont do much on it tbh! :L

thank you for the nice comments - she enjoys it and it gives her work variation. i appriciate the others concerns but the pictures you see are only snapshots of her work load and over a period of time, what these pictures dont show you is she rarely jumps, maybe 3 times a month? she schools 3 times a week for about 20 mins because mentally this is what suits her - appologies but i dont want a rude 5 year old because i let her do her own thing as a four year old just because shes four.  shes perfectly capeable of doing this work otherwise i wouldnt be doing it with her - horses all mature at their own rate physically shes ready for this level of work, mentally she finds it hard which is why her work sessions are about 20-30mins max - i havent just decided this my vets have said its not a problem, my farrier thinks shes fine and professional riders see no problem with doing this ammount of work with her - what you also dont see is that she hacks happily and its not rare for her to have four or five days off just playing in the field.  if it was so detromental to a young horses health to do the ammount of work with horses as i do with mine - which acctually isnt THAT much in the grand scheme of things why do all the big bodies like BE/BD/BS hold classes for young animals? BE 4 year old classes start at 90cm - thats three foot - in one day they have to do an equivalent to a prelim dressage test, a 90cm round of show jumps and 90cm x-country course - this requires far more training and work than i give mine. BS four year old classes START at 1.00m.  and if it is so awful to enter these classes why are people not banning then/boycotting them?

Oh get over yourself, as Leanne has made a very good point of most event horses are doing the young horse classes at 4, they are jumping 1 metre solid fences, not popping over little logs and playing. FYI I think you'll find the majority of thse horses still sound, competing and being ridden well into there teens, early 20s.  My horse is sound, strong and perfectly capable of his light work load, which involves maybe one or two jumps (in total) a month, he loved the XC schooling and would of gone round again! Of course if he was struggling with the work he wouldn't do it, as it is i'm hanging on holding him back as he is coming on leaps all the time. He's only just learning to canter properly in the school, as before he wasn't balanced enough before imo. we are going at a pace that suits us, and personally I want him to be on track, well schooled and easy to ride as a young horse not bolshy and silly as a 7, 8 year old.

Leanne, Pip and Buddy's routine seem very similar, I have one half hour flat work lesson a week, maybe school inbetween this for half an hour so and we hack maybe 2 or 3 times a week. Sometimes less, he his doing a pleasure ride this weekend, 15k so maybe just over an hour. He loves these!! The rest of the time he's out in the feild chilling .  He's 16hh now and just getting wider, i'm lucky he is so chilled and laid back! I will sub you back, i need to do more vids as i love looking back on them!
