Feed Business

I am considering starting up a small business selling horse feed at competitive prices, however this would be web based (all purchases made online / over the phone) and all products would be delivered. I was wondering whom, if anyone would use this if it were available?
Delivery would be on a specific day every week and be at a very small premium over the feed price.

Any feedback and opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Re: Feed Business

I prefer to go to the feed merchants.  My local one does have ordering and delivery facilities however I prefer to go myself so that I don't have to pay extra for the delivery, and due to the geography of our area they only deliver to each area on selected days, so if you need something this Thursday they wouldn't be able to deliver to  my area until the Tuesday.  I also like to look around at what they have in stock in case I want to use something different.  I think this sort of service would mainly suit people who either need a very large delivery or who live far away from the merchants, but then you'd probably find the delivery charge would need to be substantial for a longer distance so that you're not eating into your profits given the current cost of fuel and vehicles.

I always look specialists in haylage and high quality hay and straw. Prefer for horse feed at discounts and prompt delivery.
