Bless her!  Maybe a silly question, but do mares in late foal do all the usual things like lying down, rolling and cantering about?

Like Chip says yes very much so fiona canters around bullies all the other horses, is a thug so nothings changed there. She no longer rolls however just lays down but the foal is mainly on one side.

Dread to think how big she is going to get she is not on any hard feed, vet says she will have trouble if she gets much bigger. As the foal should not be too big shes 14.2 and sire is 14.1 both pure highlands.

I bet you are getting excited now. It wont be long untill the little one puts in an appearance.

I was still riding Bramble at this stage as all her blood tests had come back negative so the vet told me to ride her to get some fat off. The day before i stopped riding her she galloped off with me on a hack!! She had Danser about 6 weeks later, although she went right over her due date by a good month.
