Leather/Elastic Breastplates?! Which one?


Well my horse snapped my old breastplate the other day and i need a new one!:) Thing is i cant decide between a part elastic one, or a full leather one!:/ What is the differences really? & Whats best?:)

 I like the elastic ones for jumping personally. I also prefer the ones with the strap across their wither, although you can get the V shaped ones.

I have a leather one and one which is leather and elastic, personally I like them both.  My part elastic one was made for me by a master saddler and is dark green with a gold border down each side and matches one of my saddle cloths - it is for Sammy, it was made along with his wide cavesson bridle.  The leather one I like for dressage, I can take the martingale part off and just have it as a breast plate and it helps keep my dressage saddle secure, because it is plain leather it is nicer for dressage.

I have a brand new elastic JHL V breast plate for sale, its dark brown and cob size if that is any help?

both of mine have the Kincade leather/elastic one, elastic is good for jumping as when the horse stretches to jump it has enough lee-way but not too much that the saddle slips. they are a good price too, roughly around £30

Norwegian Fjords - the golden horses with the golden hearts. Minty, Loki, Teiko, Willow, Cherry & Charlie - my lovely ponies :)
