Re: yard nightmare
Also as an older person, and also having kept my horse at home till recently for 22 years, and due to circumstances with my new horse is at a DIY yard which I have known for a number of tears but only in the capacity of getting my hay from there. Wish now never seen the place the YO is a night mare having ago at everyone interferring all the time and making nasty comments, especially when I had enough and was making a dececion if to leave and was unwise to say I was thinking of leaving to a lady who has the horse next door to mine so twits then had it in the neck from the yard owner which had now made my mind up for me, have witnessed horses being ill treated by the YO, now she is saying I have been telling everyone what a rotton yard she has, but I don't have to she is doing a good job herself. I was taught to ride 45 years ago by a Lt. Col. ex-Indian Army Cavalry so know how a yard should be run and was a few years ago asked if I would be a Yard Manager of a very large Full Livery Stables with over 30 horses and at least 6 staff it was a BHS Reg yard, to me the job has to be done right or don't bother, idots need not apply or anyone who wants to be idle all pull together, The council used to licence yards I am going to find out if they still do, Also this YO is now try to make me out a lier trying to rubbish my reputation as an Volunteer Officer with the BHS, but I will say things when behavior does not meet my expectations with the treatmnet of horses which includes hitting horses in the face which I have witnessed by thr YO and hitting mine for getting too close to her hitting her with a lead rope and threatening to shoot my horse in the face if anything happens like that she will have a very nasty accident and thats a promise. All the mares she hates with a passion and most will try to double barrel her including mine, all you get she has been around horses for years but if I was her I would give up my day job, as if managed correctly owners as well as the horses it could be a fantastic yard, but most people leave after 3 months, I was told I have been there longer than most. Tells me how to look after my horse which don't appreciate saying the 7 weeks I have my horse seen by the farrier is too soon and should be longer and have years and my horse has the smallest feet she has seen on a horse of her size, and I should use hers, the latest which I am checking on as I don't know but think is wrong as she wants to do the horses teeth and will not allow a dentist on her yard, now I would have thought this was wrong as they should be qualified. No trainers allowed on the yard only YO or son to do this. Told I must give a weeks notice but she already has a weeks rent in hand above this week so tuff. Makes you frightened to go to the yard as it does my ulcer, panic attacks no good and unfortunately this will make me lash out in defence, told off for going too early my normal time, told off for not picking poo up horse did on yard the evening before which I think was not hers as stops to do and she had not, hay in front of stable ok she is a horse and makes a mess, taking too much of the feed room but thats where all my stuff has to be as never given key to dry store, the place leaks like a sieve, the feed room and the stable, all rings where removed so had to supply own and told about hook into a main beam as if my horse pulled on it would bring down the whole block if this was the case horse should not be in those stables. YO now bringing her husband into it saying she thought I was not like I am and we were friends and has known me for years if I was a friend how does she treat others who are not needless to say voting with my feet and if she wants to make anything of it watch the press.
