The main problem is the yard owner who has zero people skills, rules and regulations which appear to change by the minute, being picked up over petty things and don't like me laughing at her. It has been hard and cannot put up with it as looked after my own horse for 22 years at home so well able not to be pushed around also being a retired Chief Draughtsman don't put up with idiots well. Such a closed mind an expert, me I have been around horses for 45 years and what I have learnt in this time is how much I don't know. I have just written my resignation letter from this yard it does your head in and I have lasted longer than most usually 3 months me 5 months this is before I blow as heard someone picked her up and held her against a wall this was another owner, makes you feel your horse is hers.

I'm sure you will all agree with me when you want your horse done the way you like it - Well... I have my 16.2 Warmblood Mare on Full livery and she isn't dirty what so ever!! Very clean mare !! The lady who does her everyday I thought was lovely - Until I thought on a Weds after work I'd bob down unexpectedly I popped my head over her door to see her bed had been mucked out terribly, still poo's in the shavings and what it looked was she had hidden her poo's in her banks!! :O

I decided to check everything else whilst I was there - Her feed buckets had mix left at the bottom WHICH SHE DOESN'T HAVE, so had she not just been not mucking her out she had also been putting her on the wrong feed and leaving her rugs hung over her door - I felt like I was going to blow if I seen her that day - Anybody with a horse I think understand they are your baby and would  do anything for them!!

I ended up calming down by the weekend when I seen her and told her what she had been doing and that I wasn't going to pay her £80 any longer if this carried on - I now have removed all rugs from her stable and wrote her name on her feed bins in Black marker pen so she cannot make up anymore excuses - as for the poo in her bed I still see little ones but now I make sure that I do a full muck out whenever I am down to prevent this!!

PAIN IN THE BUM!!!!!!

Anybody been through this just makes you feel like your throwing your cash out the window!!

Rant over now Ladies lol!!

i find there always has to be one stuck-up person that gets everyone to do there dirty work and has to have a tantrum every time the horse doesnt do what they want - and the one person that thinks they can ride when cant and insist on giving you advice on your riding :/

I don't know if I am classed as a know it all but only do my best for any horse including letting them use my blue spray for a horses cut leg the spray from the vet type, the horse surprised everyone by letting me do it as usually plays up and eversince comes up and nibbles me. I don't know it all, I have learnt is how much I don't know but after coming across it once makes a mental note, how to milk a horse (strip), Cushings, Laminitis, Mud fever, Rain Scald, thrush, tapeworm, worms, getting a horse into condition from BC2, impaction colic, twisted Gut and organize the Cremation for 2 horses, how to poultice two hooves at same time and we put ourselves through this and come back for more this proves that a horse owner has more than a few screws loose it is a way of life. There is more than one way to do a job and not saying any of them wrong, but when people insist that yours is wrong after doing it for 45 years they get a very bad answer from me with an off in it, no one is telling me what to do.

Hi AstiSpumante, I really feel for you as your horse should be getting first class attention ! There is no excuse for sloppy stable management, okay, so the pay is'nt very good but the staff do know this before taking the job on ! What has happened to pride, I would have to treat anyone else's horse as my own and I would probably get told off for being too particular lol. Tbh I would'nt put Tenor or Tilly on full livery as you just don't know what is going on when you are not about.
