Devastated :( :( :(

Guinness has been sold :( I have no idea where he's gone but he wen't yesterday...his owner had been really sneaky about it and im so gutted I didn't even get chance to say goodbye. (good luck to you if you read the rest of this as I am about to rant a bit)

it all started on thursday I had the saddle as his owner doesn't like it being left at the yard and his loaner was on holiday...I got a message from his owner saying did I know where the saddle was as her kids were wanting to ride..so I thought fair enough and told her that I had it but I was going to work so she said could I leave it at the yard when I went up later and then they could ride on the friday and could i let her know what time I was going up then she would try and pop up and get it so it wasn't being left..I tol her i would be up there for 4 so she said that was fine....I got up to the yard at 4 as I had said I would and was ready to go and start mucking out etc but found her ex husband and her kids already there doing it which took me by suprise to start with...so I gave them the saddle and went to talk to some of the people on the yard as I normally do...they went to get him from the field and then rode him bareback around the yard then went to leave...so I said to them are you riding tomorrow and they said urm well no but I think his owner (they said her name but I wont :) ) is planning to clean all his tack up etc over the weekend. So I thought that was a bit odd for a start as she hasn't had anything to do with his tack for a rather long time then one of the girls on the yard said you don't think she's stopping you riding do you...so that made me worry. then I went to change my shoes at my car and found a stirrup in the boot so I took it to his little tack/feed room and found they had changed the lock which got me even more worried...I barley slept that night for worrying but never heard anything from his owner at all then on sat she announced over fb that she had come to the sad decision to sell him (still heard nothing from her) but that the only place she could find was some sort of rescue centre that had promised to re home him the other side of gatwick. So I desperatley tried to contact his other sharer to tell him as he had no idea about any of this but couldn't get hold of him at all so I worried about that...then she comments saying theres been a change of plan but doesn't say what.....then later that day his loaner comes back from holiday and gets in touch with me to say am i riding on the sunday (still heard nothing from his owner) so i tell him that shes getting rid of Guinness but I havent a clue whats going on so he then messages me back with a long message hes had from her appologising and saying she couldn't do anything else and couldn't wait for his decision if he wanted to buy or full loan Guinness (I still havent heard anything) and that a good friend of hers is going to have him and that he is going on Sunday (Still havent heard anything) so he dashed up to the yard about 9/10 pm but i was at my friends house so i couldn't go with him and I am sooo upset...the last time i saw him was thursday I haven't a clue who the friend is so I can't get in touch with them just to see how hes getting on etc...and his owner has now deleted me from fb and i haven't heard anything from her since thursday.

on a positive note (and thank you and well done if you have got this far) some of the other owners on the yard have offered their horses for us to ride if Guinness ever went so we shouldn't be without a horse. It's still really upsetting though I loved that horse as if he were my own and this is how it ended :( I'm sure he will be more than happy in his new home though and i hope he is spoilt like he deserves

anyway thanks for reading sorry to rant but had to get it out.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've lost Guiness. I can't understand why she flet that she could'nt tell you or his other loaner though and why she felt the need to delete you from facebook. I don't mean to be rude but did you do anything to upset her ? It just seems a bit dramatic to sell him from under your nose and also to change the locks on the tackroom. It's sad that you don't know where he is but hopefully he will have found a loving home, lets hope so ! i hope that you find pleasure from another horse, i realise that it won't be quite the same for a while so wishing you lots of luck, best wishes Lyn X

No nothing and don't worry I asked myself the same thing...she has always had a bit of a screw loose to put it lightly I wont go into details but yer :/ I have never met her though...was going up to him for a good 7 months maybe more and I havent met her once..the first time I met her ex husband and the girls was on thursday so that will give you a little insight.

How awful for you, its hard but you hear so many loans ending up this way its not fair on people like you who do all the caring while the owner can't.

Nothing anyone can say will make you feel any better, your heart must be breaking, i'm really sorry and hope you get to find out where he's gone.  It was sly and underhand of her to not let you say goodbye xx hugs

Oh my, that must have been such a shock, I'm so sorry for you to lose him like that. The owner does sound a little strange, though, from what you've said.

I hope he goes to a loving home, and to someone who will look after him, and I hope you can find another horse to ride and care for soon to take your mind off things.

Thinking of you,

Sue xx

Really sorry you've lost your horse, Its not the first time I've heard of this happeneing and it makes me sick I am looking to move my horses and viewing the yard this week, I'm gonna give my sharer a heads up to see if she wants to come with us if we do move. I don't think she'll want to but I would never not tell her what's happening.

OMG that was a bit of a shocker. Really sorry to hear that he has been sold on. Hope he has a lovely home. Hope you are feeling ok, even though i know you must be feeling terrible about losing him. Will you find another horse to share?

well some of the people on the yard have offered us their horses to ride so I dont think we will be short of choices. Maybe one of them mighht have a clue as to where hes gone.
