Pleasure Rides

Hi All

The article on Pleasure Rides this month, really inspired me. When I first had my boy we used to do Endurance Rides with Sport Endurance, which we loved but as he got older (17 yr old ex racehorse now) we stopped doing as many and moved to Dressage & Showing but with this months article I decided that it was time to go back to doing them.

SO I looked on EGB website and Sport Endurance and was most disappointed to find that there was only one ride close enough to my area now. It would seem that there are no rides in the Midlands/East Wales! Does anyone have any idea where I can find Pleasure Rides in these areas? We want to go to Sherwood Forest in July (fantastic full weekend) but really could do with some prior to July! Any ideas would be greatly received, hacking out is fine but there's something different about pleasure rides.

Could you not e-mail your EGB chair person for your area? All the contact details should be on the website.

Have a look at - they do area / county listings for each month of the year of any shows / pleasure rides / clinics etc.

A lot of rides are organised by local hunts, and don't necessarily feature on the EGB website.

I've thought about trying my hand (and Munchie's hoof) at endurance and I have to say EGB's website is not very user-friendly.  It just doesn't seem to make stuff very clear - although it is highly likely that I'm just a bit dumb when it comes to that kind of thing!
