livery - how much do u pay?

Hi everyone, just a quick question ..

been thinking about livery prices for various reasons and wondered what you all payed and what it included?

Atm.. i pay 26.50 weekly for stable, and shared turnout with our other pony.. we have one field that isnt rotated.

There is a lunge ring but its kinda too small to lunge on, its grass and its on a slope (50/50 good, gets boggy) Also theres a sand school which is £5 an hour ... and poles etc are extra..

We pay £130 per month to rent our little yard. We have two stables and just over 1 acre of paddock. We really need more grazing as it costs us a fortune in extra hay !

I pay £25 a week, that includes turn out in a morning with rug changes and breakfast. Grazing, school use and haylage all included. Quite reasonable i think. The people are really nice too. Grass is good and the stables are good. The riding is nice as well. And its only a two minute walk from me :)

Now we're at home no livery! :) But the yard we were at before was £28pw, which was a DIY with a stable, tack room/feed room space, turnout with other horses etc and there was a sand school with some jumps, free use - except no visiting instructors in the school (YO was an instructor and he didn't want other people on his patch lol!) which compared with lots of you sounds quite expensive!! But I think the area we live in is expensive, as round here that's generally considered quite reasonable - most are around £30pw.

I pay £25 a week in summer livery and £40 a week in winter livery. With both you get a stable, tack storage, hay or haylage and bedding if the horse has to stay in for the night its £5 extra and to get your horse turned out during winter months its £3. There is a reasonably large school with jumps and poles and there is good hacking. Also our horses get put in a different field near the end of winter to help rest the field so the field they are in for summer is rested and has good grass.

Our horses are at home now, but I had a great set up at my old yard.  It was £15 per week per horse and I started off with 2, when I got my third there was an outbuilding being used to dump rubbish in so we cleared it ourselves and built it into a stable and we got it free for doing it.  We also had an outbuilding to ourselves just for us which we could keep locked, it had lights and a tap and power so we used it as a tack/feed room and had a microwave, kettle and calor gas heater in it.  We also had a small paddock at the back of the house which we used for Rhapsody with his laminitis issues, we got it levelled and installed drainage and got it surfaced with wood fibre which made it comfy for him and we used it as an outdoor school when he wasn't in it.  It was completely DIY, in that we did all our stable maintainence ourselves too, and all the handling and care for the horses, but most people would help each other out if needed for any reason.  It was on a cattle farm, and it was really good apart from the fact there was a nutter, but there's one everywhere isn't there!

I pay for one horse £145.00 per calender month so approx £36.25 per week that is for DIY livery wiht a stable and grass. The horses live out in the summer and come in at night through the winter.  The winter is expensive as you have bedding costs and hay etc.  I also pay turn out each morning as I work which is £2.00 per day and I muck out after work.

We have amazing fields that are kept lovely and 4 big paddocks two are for winter and two for the summer.

We have our own field, so no rent now - before that we rented a 2.5 acre field with 2 stables and a sort of small barn/shed thing for £50 a month. The owners were friends of ours and very kindly allowed our 2nd horse (when we got another) free.

Wow, some of you seem to have really good deals, it might be worth putting which county you live in as this would make it quite interesting.  My last field was £80 per month which I thought was really good but it was only 2 acres with 2 stables that had dirt floors one of which I used as a tack room. No water or electric and did most of the fencing and repairs myself, I was able to rest my field for 4 months in the summer as a friend let me stay with her for free. My hay cost 6.50 per bale last winter from my supplier who delivers the winter supply in one go so if you lot got your hay included at this price last year then well done, luckily it came down to 3.75 this year!.  I'm in Surrey/Hants border
