Bucking in canter

Hacking out in a pair ben is always behind ( too scared to go infront) and in trot he seems to struggle to keep up so he canters, this isnt a proble but the fact he starts to buck for no reason is. I hvae no idea on how to stop it and now avoid trot out hacking because of this. In the school he is perfect any suggestion if not i will have to get a kesson out on a hack to sort this.

I take it this is off road hacking?  Can you go alongside to settle him so not left behind but not infront if scared?

Re: Bucking in canter

does not work i have found shire trainning reins really loose (so loose here is no contact) works i know its not ideal but better than the risk of faceplanting. Yes it is off road, nothing scaring him and he does not go infront too scary.
