Boooo!

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.

I can with Captain - he's all of 10hh, lol !!

I have done it with Bracken 15hh, but like Sam said earlier, it wasn't pretty

I cant on Leo.  He's14.3hh and I am 5'3" but I am the wrong side of 40!!  I can barely manage to mount from the ground with a saddle and stirrups to help me!!

I used to have no problem getting on my 15.2 from the ground 30+ years ago.  I have been contemplating recently whether I would attempt to ride my 16.2 bareback and wondering how to get on.

lol...ive been practising this, i have to take a few running jumps, luckily Spangle will just stand there while i run into his side time n time again, lol...he's so good for a rising 4yr old, lol. i used to have to mount a lil 13hh pony i used to ride as if bareback even though he had a saddle on as the stirrups where  tiny kiddy stirrups like on a cub saddle so had to take them off, lol...most of the time i use a wall, gate or leg up though

ride a gypsy vanner... it'll make your butt look smaller

Re: Can anyone on here get on bareback?

Sometimes. I am better when I know nobody is looking but last year at pony camp was so stiff after the week that my frined had to give me a leg up on to Brandy the pony I was riding who is a whole 13 hands! Normally I am pretty good at it but if Im tired or stiff it is not pretty at all.

It's ok if you give up as long as you come back later to try again.
