 Does everything you have for your horse - tack, buckets, accessories etc have to match or do you not mind?

With certain things, they have too look right - Parsley has brown tack, I could never have a black piece/brown piece. I'm just really odd about stuff like that, lol. But buckets etc, I don't really care.

Previously he had a lovely Wintec brown girth that matched, but then he went on fat fighters and is like  half the size of what he was before.. so I'm having to use a GREEN girth which is the only that fits him and it is killing me.  I'm looking into new ones.. so much black out there.. whatever happened to brown....

Anyway, you guys? Matcher or lack of matching?

Hi Charlotte my tack is brown too but i don't have a green girth lol ! So long as it fits Parsleyand is comfortable for him I would'nt worry. Funny you should mention buckets cos Tenor has a blue set and Tilly has red, it just makes it easier when making up the feeds. I don't worry too much about the colour of rugs, if they are a good buy and fit well then that makes them okay ! 

 

We both love Tilly in red, luckily the bargain fleece that I bought her at Christmas just happened to be red so she does look gorgeous with her matching headcollar. Tenor looks good in blue.

When we had Grouse he had a black saddle & bridle, black girth, and a royal blue saddle cloth, but being grey he looked good in most colours - maybe not brown, though......

Brackens saddle was brown as were her saddle cloth and girth, but I'm afraid to say her bridle was black - though only because we started off with a black saddle and matching stuff, but she changed shape, it didn't fit, and we ended up with a brown one that did, and as her bridle was a really good one I never bothered to change it.

Nothing else matches, the feed bowls are blue and pink, the buckets mostly black, the big tub trugs are green, and headcollars and ropes are a very colourful assortment, lol !!

Haynets are a rainbow mix too....

All the colours of the rainbow as long as it fits, but my mare does not mind a bright red turn out but I think it would have given Tonka a complex, the saddle is black, bridle is black and one rein brown and the other black (double reins), stirrups leathers brown. Not into matching up items but I am male so thats my excuse and at the moment don't suffer with OCD either but working on it.

 I used to have a brown saddle and a brown girth.. but dont know where that girth went and was using a black now, now ive got a new saddle.. black so matching there.. but i all of flicks bridles are brown (havana) which is a bit annoying so is my martingale.. although i have one black flash floating around for some reason.. one the look out for a new black bridle would prefer a grakle though as i have 3 different brown bridles lol.. 

all my buckets are different, haynets multi coloured.. When i first got flick i tried to keep all my brushes dark green as thought this would be easy to, but so didnt work.. lol

Danser , Charlie and Sky have black saddle'sand bridles and black girths but what ever colour saddlecloth that i have clean that day. Wish has a brown saddle and bridle and a purple girth, his browband is red and purple and he a few different colour saddlecloths, purple, red, pink and brown and sometimes he has my baby blue one on.

Rugs are whatever colour that happens to fit right when i buy them and feed buckets and water buckets are a bit mix and match.

Pixies tack is brown but very old - she doesnt really do anything so I am not that concerned but I do like matching colours I must admit! My colour for Pix is red!

She doesnt actually leave the yard and has never been shown so it's only for me!!

I buy a lot of rugs for both Pixie and Rhys of ebay so I cant pick the colour - its all about price!!

If I have a choice though - I definatley match!

I'm not a great matcher on the whole, but I do have a purple and black bitless bridle, and have been on the look-out for a purple with black piping saddlecloth for ages.  The other day I found one, but that's as far as our matching goes!

Totally agree with thats comment! Have to to have matching colour tack and good quality the good thing is ebay means you can get some great bargins, my english leather girth only cost a fiver, awesome!!

My favourite colour is blue so tend to find that everything I buy is blue so end up looking very corridinated with out really meaning to be! I still have rugs that are over 6 years old but look after them properly so they still look lovely if things start getting tatty they go! Can't bare any tatty messy looking things!
