Re: Everyone: 3 new pictures + something about your horses from recently?
unfortunately I haven't done much this past month as I've had an operation and so not had my horsey fix....
However, I rode Dulciefor the first time in 5 weeks on Saturday and she was a very good girl! Took her in the trailer to a local indoor school as thought it would be quieter. My riding instructor has been riding her a few times a week whilst I've been out of action.
On Sunday, we had to switch Luna and Dulcie's stables. Luna has been on an outdoor stable, with solid walls as she can be quite marish, and because she is quite hyper, watching the comings and goings has been good for her. However, when we bought Dulcie, the only spare stable was in the indoor barn. She has It is part boarded but horses on each side can see into her stable through the bars. She is ok with one of the neighbours but has taken real exception to the other and has been seen double barreling the wall!! On one occasion she broke a hole in the wall and pushed the panneling in on itself and the last time she did it, she bent the bars between her and the other horse!! It wouldn't take much for her to do it again and get her leg stuck so i have had to switch them around!!! BIG SIGH!
If the owner of the horse had let me put ab oard of the bars into her horses stable, it would have ben straight forward and they could have stayed put, but she argues it would be too dark! So although Dulcie is now happoy as larry outdoors, Luna might be an issue in the weeks to come as she will kick the door like mad if anythign near her gets fed and she will also not be adverse to having a go at the horses on each side of her through the bars. (but she is not big enough to kick the actual bars!)
Also, next to the outdoor stable is another whose horse is a serious box walker and weaver. Luna didn't care less about this and just gave it a dirty look whenever it started as if to say 'bloody idiot' - not sure what Dulcie will think though. I have put an anti-weave grill on the door to be on the safe side!
Picture wise - like I said, not had any for a while due to being laid up in hospital...we went to the beach the weekend before I went in and sadly my OH would not brave the winds to get out ofthe lorryu and take some pics!!
