Everyone: 3 new pictures + something about your horses from recently?

Forum is pretty dead, figured I'd start a wee show and tell. Post recent pictures of your horse and what you've been up to with them: good or bad!

I've been practising silly little tricks like bowing and doing stretches with Woody, practising bandaging & plaiting (doing my level 2 just now) and going out some nice long hacks to the woods across the way from us/ avoiding the school because its a sludge pit. BUT its getting sunnier by the day and I hope to get out jumping soon!

Re: Everyone: 3 new pictures + something about your horses from recently?

unfortunately I haven't done much this past month as I've had an operation and so not had my horsey fix....

However, I rode Dulciefor the first time in 5 weeks on Saturday and she was a very good girl! Took her in the trailer to a local indoor school as thought it would be quieter. My riding instructor has been riding her a few times a week whilst I've been out of action.

On Sunday, we had to switch Luna and Dulcie's stables. Luna has been on an outdoor stable, with solid walls as she can be quite marish, and because she is quite hyper, watching the comings and goings has been good for her. However, when we bought Dulcie, the only spare stable was in the indoor barn. She has It is part boarded but horses on each side can see into her stable through the bars. She is ok with one of the neighbours but has taken real exception to the other and has been seen double barreling the wall!! On one occasion she broke a hole in the wall and pushed the panneling in on itself and the last time she did it, she bent the bars between her and the other horse!! It wouldn't take much for her to do it again and get her leg stuck so i have had to switch them around!!! BIG SIGH!

If the owner of the horse had let me put ab oard of the bars into her horses stable, it would have ben straight forward and they could have stayed put, but she argues it would be too dark! So although Dulcie is now happoy as larry outdoors, Luna might be an issue in the weeks to come as she will kick the door like mad if anythign near her gets fed and she will also not be adverse to having a go at the horses on each side of her through the bars. (but she is not big enough to kick the actual bars!)

Also, next to the outdoor stable is another whose horse is a serious box walker and weaver. Luna didn't care less about this and just gave it a dirty look whenever it started as if to say 'bloody idiot' - not sure what Dulcie will think though. I have put an anti-weave grill on the door to be on the safe side!

Picture wise - like I said, not had any for a while due to being laid up in hospital...we went to the beach the weekend before I went in and sadly my OH would not brave the winds to get out ofthe lorryu and take some pics!!

Well was really pleased to have 2 weeks off over christmas so managed to get in lots of hacking (even popped a jump) and quality time with the horse :) Also got her new stable up so now have a little 'yard' of my own, makes me much calmer as is already helping the field with her not pacing up and down the fence line. Pics are of her all clean for once, us jumping please excuse bad position thats the first time we've jumped in 6 months I recon, and new stable and yard :)

Just trying around Sabrina was going ok until she was moved to a new grazing field, her and her pals tried to outdo each other to see how high they could buck and Sabrina was practicing her sliding halt making sure that the field went to the same condition as the last. Now on the top of the YO hate list which is all mares, she can boss the geldings but Sabrina tried to double barrel her yesterday. Tried riding Sabrina went splat on the Tarmac, which lead to an argument with the YO as its dangerous out there, yes I know have been riding for 45 years, then she said I would be in trouble with the police me I said bring it on especially now with me being the local BHS CABO. All things which I do get rubbished, managed to upset my farrier, but holding candle to the devil till the place comes up I have my name down for, and alot closer to home. Tonight Sabrina came in with being tempted with carrots and the other horse a mare which also plays up came when I called her the secret with both horses is gentle handling no bully tactics and the other owner is the same as me gentle handling TLC.

Gypsy Gold does not chink & glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.Tonka & Lara my beautiful horses RIP, Nelson,Chloe & Kitty the cats.

Got to say I'm loving that wee stable! Wish I could have something like that on my own land!

Work and school has been quite busy recently, so not much time to do stuff with the gees- especially as B went lame. Prior to lameness, have been developing her skills on the long-lines as she's rubbish at bending and balancing herself, so decided we'd work on this without her having to worry about having a rider too.

Just been playing around really. I only get 10 minutes 'B' time after school as the rest is doing jobs. So little games, but again had no time.

Once my school and work patterns are more settled, I can finally work out a B training rota!

She has a really lovely lovely face and really lovely lovely markings! Reminds me of a horse we had on our yard a few years ago. Gorgeousness! I know the feeling of the overload, Christmas was hellish. Can't wait for things to settle down for a week at least!

Aww thanks :). She is very pretty. I've never been a mare person, but she is just great! She's been a real challenge but small steps! She is a mare and boy have I learned that lesson. Geldings definitely win it. Shadow is far less maintanence!

I'm the same, yet to own a mare but like the idea. Would probably say otherwise if I had one haha!

Haha yeah. I love her to pieces and she isn't actually that mareish. She's never, ever moody. But she will tell you if she isn't keen on something, but always so polite about it, but will make enough noise to say LOOK I CAN'T DO IT MUM! Haha, she's a fruit cake!
