1. People who automatically judge you for having your horse un-shod

2. Snobby people at shows

3. Know it alls that can't respect you are trying a different way of training that's not conventional

Grrrrrr they annoy me just thinking about it

1.cruelty/neglect ,- beating horses, any kind of force, never spending any time with them then wondering why they cant do a full days hunting or showing gggrrrr

2.impatients, - not putting in the ground work just expecting a horse to 'know' what to do

3. snobbery- those folk that just 'know' it all allready, there are sooo many ways of doing things and sooo many lessons to learn i've been riding for over 15yrs and know sooo little but i love learning and welcome any advice and help as long as it doesnt involve cruelty xx

1. People who insist horses do things 'out of spite' and give them human emotions and motives to make them sound like they wake up in the morning and act up 'on purpose'.

2.People who tack their horse up with all the gadgets under the sun, but when asked what the purpose of the gadgets are, they havn't got a clue, their excuse is 'the horse came with the tack' but they never thought to assess and wonder if the horse actually requires them or not...

3. People who's dogs chase, sniff, or run around behind, in front of, under etc horses and then look shocked when your horse strikes out or throws you in the hedgerow.

This may be true for some owners but not all ... I guess it's jealousy when in boils down to it, so maybe I should have just said jealousy for this point !!! This is where a lot of bitchy "yard politics" starts ... hate it !!!

 

3. People who aren't willing to help more novice owners, instead look down their noses at them or roll their eyes ... every has to start somewhere  !!! There's no need to be so rude just because someone has a lot to learn !!! We should be sharing information rather than competing to be the most experienced on the yard, I really can't stand this it's so pathetic and once again starts yard politics going !!!

 

Love these two....especially the 'inverted snobbery'! I have faced a lot of this in the past with a 'friend', espeically since getting my new girl. Comments like 'well you will have a fancy horse'. Why is she fancy? Just because she is bigger than usual and not a bargain basement (which my previous horse was - although worth her weight in gold to me!). Also...naughty behaviour has nothing to do with bing 'fancy' - it has to do with manners and getting to know one another! Grrrrr...very annoying!  Especially when coming from someone who I have helped a lot in the past.

Also agree 100% about not helping novices. On many of the yards I've been on there has always been the middleaged lady who has decided to buy her first horse. Yes, usually they are not experienced, and yes,they do sometimes do things wrong - as we all do! but I am full of admiration that they have had the courage to fulfill their dreams at this later age!

At the end of the day - we have all been novices and to belittle someone for not knowing something is not only rude and ignorant, but it is also mean-spirited

My horse likes to take the mickey out of me on occassion. She takes my hat off and won't give it back. Because she knows it winds me up :K

HAHAHA I can just imagine that!!...

sometimes it's funny to give them human emotions..like Guinness when I go to get him from the field I shout him from the gate and he looks at me then you can almost see him thinking hmmm is there a carrot in her hand, I don't see a carrot right well if she want's me she will either have to go and get a carrot or trail through all that deep mud to come get me from here because I am not moving.
